I am the founder and chief executive of 360déménager, a firm that helps trustees and executors with aspects of emptying the home including identifying, valuing and selling art, antiques jewelry and fine home contents, coordinating, organizing and overseeing every aspect of residential moves, and preparing detailed photographic inventory documentation for estate, donation and/or insurance purposes. Sharon is a native of Montreal. After attending McGill University and receiving a BA in Physiological Psychology and Political Science and then an MA in Education, Sharon moved to California and later on to New York City. Prior to founding Déménager, Sharon managed more than 1,500 residential units and 1,000,000 square feet of retail space. Her long and varied carrier has taken her from education, to consulting, to international new product marketing, to real estate. From all of this, she drew on a multitude of skills, experiences and her need to fill a void to start Déménager. It was in June of 2006, shortly after her mother passed, that Sharon founded Déménager. There was no one to help her with her mother’s lifetime of possessions, emptying the home and gaining closure, so she knew others needed help too. Sharon’s business grew out of her personal experience and need to share her knowledge and expertise. Now in her 19th year at the helm of her unique business, Sharon provides 3 comprehensive services intended to lessen stress and allow clients to calmly go about taking care of themselves and their lives.
It is important to keep stressful situations under control; to lighten the pressure of time constraints; and to keep the burden of rarely occurring traumas from crushing in on us. A thoughtful, experienced professional can bring in a level of expertise at these moments to allow us to carry on with our lives, our work and our many routine obligations. A few years pass. Premiums have been paid. Something happens – a fire, a flood, a robbery. How do you actually prove that you had what you are reporting to the insurance adjustor?
Bringing in Déménager to do a 100% photographic inventory can give you and your family peace of mind as you sort through other matters, both emotional and financial. We will make sure that your personal property is digitally documented. We photograph: all works of art, lamps, chandeliers, area rugs, furniture, mirrors, items on table tops and other bric-a-brac, electronics, contents of closets and drawers, appliances, exterior furniture, jewelry etc.
Photographic inventories can be augmented with written descriptions if so desired.
Everything is saved in the cloud and clients receive thumb drives which can be stored off-site or given to your insurance agent, or any trusted advisor.
